Digital Technology Architect – Applications and Solutions, Agile

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Develop and oversee solution and portfolio architectures along with related artifacts throughout all phases of the TOGAF Architecture Development Method utilizing Cameo and ArchiMate.

• Engage as an Architect within SAFe Agile Release Train teams.

• Offer technical leadership and direction to agile development teams to ensure adherence to architecture and standards.

• Facilitate technical and design discussions with business teams and executive stakeholders to reach consensus on requirements.

• Assist in managing the backlog, risks, opportunities, and areas of focus for visibility and prioritization.

• Mentor junior technical staff as they progress toward solution architect roles.

• Establish consistent architecture patterns and practices across various teams.

• Support the optimization and modernization of application portfolios through process and system transformations.

• Collaborate with infrastructure, networking, and cloud teams regarding scalability, reliability, and security.

• Direct application deployments and system migrations in conjunction with functional, program, corporate service, and outsourced provider teams.

• Promote architecture and share architectural contributions throughout Raytheon.

• Lead initiatives for continuous improvement to enhance productivity and minimize delivery friction.

• Collaborate with enterprise architects on shared principles, strategies, and implementation methodologies.

• Implement formal architecture processes and develop reusable building blocks and reference architectures.

⛳️ Requirements

• A university degree or equivalent experience with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field with at least 7 years of experience.

• Proven experience in leading and executing technology transformation initiatives.

• Demonstrated expertise in architecting, designing, integrating, and deploying enterprise-grade applications.

• Experience with deploying and hosting applications on AWS or Microsoft Azure.

• Capability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance.

• U.S. citizenship is required.

• An active and existing DoD Secret security clearance is required from day one.

• Experience as an Architect within agile frameworks, methodologies, and tools such as Scrum, SAFe, or the Toyota Production System.

• Strong executive presence along with excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Proficient in time and resource management, planning, and project execution.

• Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to exercise independent judgment while managing complexity and ambiguity.

• Experience in leading or collaborating with virtual and geographically diverse teams.

• Ability to use abstraction and simplification when communicating complex systems and ideas.

• Possession of formal architecture certifications or degrees, such as Zachman Certified Enterprise Architect, TOGAF, RTX Certified Architect, or Cloud Architect certifications, with practical application.

• Technical expertise across applications, data analytics, cloud, infrastructure, and cybersecurity.

• Experience in deploying and integrating large-scale software solutions in a highly regulated and secure industry throughout all lifecycle phases, utilizing infrastructure as code and deployment automation.
