Digital Product Owner

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Take ownership and prioritize the software backlog for both front-end and back-end digital platforms.

• Define and enhance epics, features, and user stories for the software development team.

• Serve as the Product Owner within an Agile Scrum/Kanban delivery framework.

• Lead the backlog refinement sessions, sprint planning, and retrospectives.

• Balance customer value, quality, technical debt, and delivery risks effectively.

• Assist in the planning and coordination of software releases.

• Ensure alignment of software development efforts with the Firmware Product Owner, Digital Product Manager, and product category Product Managers.

• Oversee cross-team dependencies to guarantee seamless end-to-end feature delivery.

• Collaborate closely with Development and Project Managers responsible for overall project delivery, hardware/firmware delivery, trials, regulatory approval, manufacturing, and product launches.

• Implement the digital product roadmap for myenergi’s Home Energy Management System platform.

• Work collaboratively across functions with product, engineering, UX, commercial, and support teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience as a Product Owner in delivering software, API-based services, or platform products.

• Technical proficiency, including an understanding of system architecture, IoT protocols, and hardware/software interfaces.

• Experience in agile environments, managing cross-functional backlogs, and iterative delivery.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, both internally and externally.

• Background in the energy, EV, or smart home industries is preferred.

• Familiarity with OCPP, Modbus, MQTT, or similar protocols is advantageous.

• Experience in delivering connected products that integrate hardware, firmware, and cloud software is a plus.

• Knowledge of the UK energy flexibility landscape, including grid services and dynamic tariffs, is beneficial.

• Experience in data science and utilizing big data sets to develop user features is favorable.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a technical field.

• Agile or product certifications such as Certified Scrum Product Owner, SAFe, or Pragmatic Institute are considered a plus.
