Digital Hardware Engineer V

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.

📋 Description

• Oversee the development of digital hardware from initial concept and architecture through to schematic capture, PCB layout, verification, qualification, production release, and ongoing engineering support.

• Serve as the technical authority for intricate product development initiatives.

• Detect and address complex hardware challenges during both the development phase and post-production.

• Work collaboratively with software, firmware, manufacturing, and other engineering teams to unify hardware and software solutions.

• Develop comprehensive design documentation, testing protocols, and other pertinent information.

• Enhance designs for optimal performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.

• Provide mentorship to engineers across various levels of experience.

• Facilitate design reviews.

• Manage mid-complexity design projects, establish foundational concepts for engineering challenges, and execute action plans to enhance project outcomes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or 12 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor’s Degree.

• A minimum of eight (8) years of experience in a specialized functional area, or 6 years of experience may be applicable with a Master’s Degree, or 3 years of experience may be acceptable with a PhD.

• Access to technology, materials, software, or hardware may necessitate obtaining a U.S. Government export license under ITAR or EAR U.S. export regulations.

• Experience in designing with ARM or Intel-based microprocessors (preferred).

• Experience with AMD and/or Lattice FPGAs (preferred).

• Proficient in schematic capture using Siemens DXDesigner or Altium Designer (preferred).

• Experience in designing, constraining, and integrating high-speed interfaces such as PCIe Gen 3/4, 10 GbE, 40 GbE, 100 GbE, and DDR4 (preferred).

• Background in high current/low voltage switching power supply (preferred).

• Experience collaborating with embedded software and firmware engineers (preferred).

• Familiarity with Hyperlynx SI/PI (preferred).

• Experience in radiation-hardened or high-reliability design (preferred).
