Senior Hardware Engineer – RTL, High-Level Synthesis

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Create C++ and post-HLS readability and optimization passes to generate human-auditable RTL

• Utilize Agentic AI and verification features within Code Metal

• Assist in CI/CD qualification, which includes automated RTL simulation, functional verification, and regression testing

• Design and enhance capabilities for producing production-ready RTL from high-level algorithm descriptions

• Integrate HLS and facilitate RTL code generation

• Work collaboratively across hardware, software, and verification teams

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of practical experience in writing RTL code or using High-Level Synthesis

• Familiarity with at least one commercial HLS tool (Catapult, Vitis HLS, Stratus, or equivalent)

• Strong hardware modeling experience related to fixed-point arithmetic, bit-accurate types, synthesis pragmas, and modeling trade-offs

• Proficiency in scripting with Python for development, toolchain automation, and testing

• Excellent debugging and problem-solving abilities

• Experience with simulation and functional verification processes

• Knowledge of Linux-based development environments

• Comprehensive understanding of RTL / VHDL

• Familiarity with FPGA architectural features and limitations

• Insight into verification methodologies and testbench development

• Experience with DSP algorithms and applications utilizing Python/MATLAB

• Interest in or familiarity with LLM-assisted code transformation and readability tools

• Experience with Git-based development workflows and CI/CD environments

• U.S. citizenship may be necessary for specific project assignments requiring security clearance

• Legal authorization to work in the United States and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance may be required for certain roles
