This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of the technical execution for a range of Digital Engineering initiatives and programs.
• Provide thought leadership on the Istari platform, its applications, and necessary capabilities.
• Assist in defining the product scope and technical strategy for new digital engineering capabilities.
• Evaluate designs, architectures, and implementations for quality, scalability, and alignment with Istari’s platform vision.
• Act as a technical escalation point for intricate engineering and integration challenges.
• Oversee and mentor a team of Forward Deployed Engineers.
• Propel execution across various concurrent projects, including planning, prioritization, and delivery.
• Offer technical coaching, design and code feedback, and guidance for career development.
• Help enhance efficient, lean team processes as the organization expands.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate customer requirements into actionable technical plans.
• Assist in customer engagements that necessitate deep digital engineering expertise.
• Communicate technical trade-offs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Assume delegated responsibilities from the Director of Digital Engineering.
• Contribute to the establishment of standards, best practices, and reusable technical patterns.
• Identify tooling, process, and team capability gaps and recommend improvements.
• Serve as a thought partner regarding the future of digital engineering at Istari.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in engineering (aerospace, systems, mechanical, electrical, or related fields).
• At least 3 years of experience in leading or managing technical teams.
• Solid understanding of software fundamentals (APIs, data pipelines, services, integrations).
• Proficiency in MBSE (e.g., Cameo, SysML).
• Experience with CAD/PLM tools (e.g., CATIA, Teamcenter, or similar).
• Familiarity with document and requirements management systems.
• Experience with simulations (FEA, CFD, etc.).
• Demonstrated ability to balance hands-on technical work with leadership responsibilities.
• Exceptional communication skills—capable of clearly articulating complex technical concepts.
• Preference for experience in aerospace, defense, or other complex engineered systems.
• Exposure to model extraction, automation, and digital thread concepts is a plus.
• Preferred experience in product or platform-based environments.
• Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to shape roles, processes, and scope as the organization evolves is preferred.
