Engineering Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Define and implement a comprehensive strategy for technology, engineering, and data.

• Collaborate with senior leadership to convert business priorities into actionable technology roadmaps.

• Cultivate relationships with stakeholders across Finance, Operations, Product, Commercial, and Technology departments.

• Facilitate prioritization discussions to align stakeholders on timelines, dependencies, investments, and trade-offs.

• Articulate technology strategy, risks, progress, and business implications to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Drive decision-making through well-structured recommendations, data insights, and sound business rationale.

• Guide engineering and data teams through managers and technical leaders.

• Supervise platform architecture, cloud infrastructure, scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency.

• Enhance analytics and data capabilities to aid executive decision-making.

• Take ownership of security, data privacy, compliance, access governance, and technology risk management.

• Oversee technology budgets, vendor management, infrastructure expenses, and make build-vs-buy decisions.

• Discover opportunities to leverage AI and automation to enhance engineering and business productivity.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in technology leadership positions within startups, scale-ups, or rapidly expanding companies.

• Proven experience in leading engineering and/or data teams through senior managers or technical leads.

• Strong stakeholder management abilities with a background in working directly with CEOs, founders, and senior leadership teams.

• Demonstrated capability to manage conflicting priorities and foster alignment across various business functions.

• Exceptional executive communication, influencing, negotiation, and decision-making skills.

• Proficient in translating technical subjects into clear business implications, risks, and recommendations.

• Solid understanding of cloud-native platforms, architecture, data systems, and infrastructure.

• Experience in managing technology budgets, vendor relationships, and strategic technology investments.

• Comfortable making high-stakes decisions in uncertain and rapidly changing environments.

• Preferred experience in regulated or data-sensitive industries such as fintech, insurance, financial services, or similar fields.
