Digital Automation Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with classified program and closed-area teams to evaluate operational objectives and facilitate the adoption of ROCKS automation and Kubernetes platform products.

• Deliver customized knowledge transfer to System Administrators throughout their adoption processes.

• Assist in the deployment, provisioning, and ongoing operations, as well as maintenance, as teams implement and scale ROCKS products.

• Work in conjunction with the ROCKS Automation and Platform team pillars.

• Liaise with application engineering teams to ensure that application deployment and lifecycle management align with ROCKS standards.

• Integrate automation with enterprise tools, APIs, and cloud environments.

• Enforce security hardening and compliance automation.

• Enhance automation workflows by diagnosing issues, improving efficiency, and ensuring high availability.

• Contribute to the development of platform standards and assist internal teams in adopting containers and automation best practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Generally requires a University Degree or equivalent experience along with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and at least 3 years of experience.

• Proven experience collaborating with technical IT teams, such as System Administrators, to incorporate automation into OS hardening, application, and service provisioning workflows.

• Proficient in using Ansible, the open-source IT automation tool.

• Familiarity with both Windows and Linux Operating Systems.

• U.S. citizenship is mandatory.

• Capability to obtain and retain a U.S. government issued security clearance.

• An active and existing DoD Secret security clearance is required starting from day one.

• Preferred: Experience with API integration and automation.

• Preferred: Familiarity with Ansible and Infrastructure-as-Code principles and best practices.

• Preferred: Understanding of Ansible architecture, including playbooks, roles, collections, inventories, and vault.

• Preferred: Ability to effectively communicate complex automation strategies.

• Preferred: Experience with Ansible execution environments and containerized automation.

• Preferred: Experience in deploying cloud-native platforms and systems in both classified and unclassified environments.

• Preferred: Knowledge of GitOps and Kubernetes package management technologies, such as ArgoCD, Packer, Helm, and Kustomize.

• Preferred: Experience with VMware or HPE Morpheus.

• Preferred: Understanding of network security concepts and the automated enforcement of security controls.
