Digital Automation Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with classified program and closed-area teams to evaluate operational objectives and facilitate the integration of ROCKS automation and Kubernetes platform products.

• Transfer knowledge to System Administrators regarding the deployment and scaling of Infrastructure-as-Code, observability, and Kubernetes-based solutions.

• Assist in the deployment, provisioning, operations, and maintenance as teams begin to adopt and expand ROCKS products.

• Work alongside the ROCKS Automation and Platform team pillars.

• Coordinate with application engineering teams to ensure deployment and lifecycle management align with ROCKS standards.

• Integrate automation with enterprise tools, APIs, and cloud environments.

• Enforce security hardening and implement compliance automation.

• Troubleshoot and enhance automation workflows for optimal efficiency and high availability.

• Provide support to classified program teams in deploying and managing infrastructure and applications within closed-area environments.

• Contribute to the development of platform standards and counsel internal teams on best practices for containers and automation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field with at least 3 years' experience.

• Proven experience collaborating with technical IT teams, such as System Administrators, to incorporate automation into OS hardening, application, and service provisioning workflows.

• Proficiency in Ansible.

• Familiarity with Windows and Linux Operating Systems.

• Capability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance.

• U.S. citizenship is required.

• An active and existing DoD Secret clearance is required from day one.

• Experience with API integration and automation.

• Knowledge of Ansible and Infrastructure-as-Code principles and best practices.

• Understanding of Ansible architecture, including playbooks, roles, collections, inventories, and vaults.

• Ability to effectively communicate complex automation strategies.

• Experience with Ansible execution environments and containerized automation.

• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities.

• Background in deploying cloud-native platforms and systems in classified and/or unclassified settings.

• Familiarity with GitOps and Kubernetes package management tools like ArgoCD, Packer, Helm, and Kustomize.

• Experience with VMware or HPE Morpheus.

• Knowledge of network security concepts and the automated enforcement of security controls.

• Must reside and work in one of the 50 U.S. states, excluding U.S. territories.
