DevOps Engineering Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ukraine.

📋 Description

• Direct the Platform & Cloud Operations domain at Creatio, overseeing 17 engineers distributed across four teams.

• Manage delivery timelines, evaluate timeline trade-offs, and prioritize scope within the domain.

• Oversee operational methodologies across two infrastructure teams, a release and upgrade team, and an internal product team.

• Take responsibility for domain architecture and key architectural decisions in collaboration with Architects.

• Formulate and manage the strategy for technical debt, determining what to address and when.

• Personally engage with complex and critical technical challenges.

• Evaluate release quality readiness and halt releases when quality risks necessitate it.

• Conduct post-release quality assessments and ensure the operational health of the customer cloud.

• Supervise incident accountability, on-call practices, and post-outage protocols.

• Oversee performance reviews, one-on-one meetings, development plans, onboarding, workload management, capacity planning, and resource allocation for 17 engineers.

• Make decisions regarding hiring and exits, offer compensation recommendations, and cultivate the Team Lead bench.

• Mentor Team Leads in leadership and systems thinking.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in managing software engineering teams, including collaborating with Team Leads.

• Strong technical foundation in platform, infrastructure, or cloud operations.

• Familiarity with CI/CD systems, infrastructure as code, cloud architecture, observability, and release engineering.

• Experience in managing production infrastructure while adhering to availability commitments.

• Background in incident management, on-call practices, and post-incident review processes.

• Demonstrated capability to enhance delivery, engineering quality, and organizational efficiency across multiple teams.

• Ability to make timeline trade-offs under pressure and substantiate decisions with data.

• Experience collaborating with Product, Architecture, and cross-functional teams.

• Strong skills in leadership, mentoring, communication, and people management.

• Capacity to make practical decisions and operate successfully in fast-paced settings.

• Upper-Intermediate or higher proficiency in English.

• Experience with large-scale customer upgrade or migration initiatives in a multi-tenant SaaS environment (preferred).

• Background in developing internal developer platforms (preferred).

• Working knowledge of .NET (preferred).

• Experience with AI-driven products or AI-assisted engineering processes (preferred).
