DevOps Engineering Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Lead the Platform & Cloud Operations domain at Creatio, overseeing a team of 17 engineers across four groups.

• Take charge of CI systems and development environments.

• Manage automation processes for the cloud environment that hosts product servers and customer instances.

• Direct the upgrade pipeline that facilitates the delivery of releases to customers.

• Supervise internal tools that enhance the productivity of the engineering team.

• Oversee delivery timelines and make necessary trade-offs across the domain.

• Collaborate with product and engineering leadership to define scope and priorities.

• Establish effective working methods across four teams with varied operating models.

• Be accountable for domain architecture and crucial architectural decisions in conjunction with Architects.

• Develop and manage the technical debt strategy.

• Address complex and critical technical challenges.

• Evaluate release quality readiness and halt releases when quality risks are identified.

• Oversee post-release quality assessments and the operational health of the customer cloud.

• Manage incident ownership, on-call practices, and post-outage protocols.

• Handle performance evaluations, one-on-ones, development plans, and onboarding for 17 engineers.

• Manage workload, capacity, and resource distribution.

• Make decisions regarding hiring and exits, provide compensation recommendations, and build the Team Lead bench.

• Mentor Team Leads on leadership and systems thinking.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in managing software engineering teams, including working through Team Leads.

• Strong engineering foundation in platform, infrastructure, or cloud operations.

• Experience with CI/CD systems, infrastructure as code, cloud architecture, observability, and release engineering.

• Experience in maintaining production infrastructure under availability commitments.

• Familiarity with incident management, on-call practices, and post-incident follow-up.

• Demonstrated ability to drive delivery, engineering quality, and organizational effectiveness across multiple teams.

• Ability to make timeline trade-offs under pressure and support decisions with data.

• Experience collaborating with Product, Architecture, and cross-functional stakeholders.

• Strong leadership, mentoring, communication, and people management capabilities.

• Ability to make pragmatic choices and function effectively in fast-paced environments.

• Upper-Intermediate or higher proficiency in English.

• Nice to have: experience with large-scale customer upgrade or migration initiatives in a multi-tenant SaaS context.

• Nice to have: experience in developing internal developer platforms.

• Nice to have: working knowledge of .NET.

• Nice to have: experience with AI-powered products or AI-assisted engineering workflows.
