DevOps Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Assume full responsibility for the on-premises platform.

• Enhance and standardize the Hetzner/Proxmox infrastructure utilizing Ansible, Python scripting, and Jenkins Shared Libraries (Groovy).

• Manage isolated customer environments on Ubuntu VMs featuring Tomcat, PostgreSQL, Keycloak, and RabbitMQ.

• Oversee and optimize build pipelines using Gradle/Maven.

• Improve deployment processes for Spring Boot and Tomcat applications.

• Provide coaching and support to development teams as a collaborative partner.

• Set DevOps standards within the Community of Practice.

• Maintain organized documentation of architectural decisions (ADRs) in Confluence.

• Implement alerting and logging solutions with Grafana, Loki, and LibreNMS.

• Assess and integrate AI agents like OpenCode and HypGPT for routine tasks, code reviews, and pipeline evaluation.

• Contribute to shaping technical decisions and advancing the DevOps culture.

⛳️ Requirements

• Several years of practical experience in administering and automating Linux environments (Ubuntu).

• Strong proficiency in Ansible, Docker, and Jenkins.

• Familiarity with the Java/JVM ecosystem, especially Java, Kotlin, Spring Boot, Tomcat, Gradle, or Maven.

• Comprehension of build configurations and dependencies.

• Hands-on approach to managing on-premises infrastructure.

• Ability to clearly articulate complex relationships and disseminate knowledge.

• Willingness to collaborate within agile squads (Scrum).

• Open-mindedness towards AI tools and agentic programming in the DevOps process.

• Knowledge of Apache HTTP Server, Nginx, Apache Tomcat, PostgreSQL, or security and compliance is a plus, though not mandatory.
