DevOps Automation Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Create and deploy Infrastructure as Code solutions utilizing Terraform and OpenTofu for provisioning both cloud and on-premises infrastructure.

• Design and sustain Ansible playbooks and roles to manage configurations, deploy applications, and conduct system patching across diverse environments.

• Architect and enhance Ansible Tower/AWX implementations for large-scale automation, incorporating RBAC, credential management, and workflow orchestration.

• Drive the integration of agentic AI capabilities to streamline decision-making processes and mitigate manual operational tasks.

• Establish and uphold automation practices, standards, and frameworks; perform code reviews for infrastructure automation initiatives.

• Diagnose and address complex automation challenges; create technical documentation for effective knowledge transfer.

• Integrate automation solutions with CI/CD pipelines, monitoring tools, and ticketing systems.

• Document technical architecture, runbooks, and operational guidelines for automation systems.

• Assess and propose new automation tools and technologies to enhance efficiency and minimize operational risks.

• Collaborate with Cloud, Infrastructure, and Security teams to incorporate automation throughout IT operations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in IT infrastructure and systems administration.

• Expert-level knowledge of Terraform and/or OpenTofu; proven capability to manage intricate infrastructure states.

• Advanced proficiency in Ansible; demonstrated success in designing and maintaining Ansible Tower or AWX in live production settings.

• Strong skills in Python programming; ability to create custom modules, plugins, and automation scripts.

• Comprehensive understanding of DevOps principles, CI/CD pipelines, and best practices in infrastructure-as-code.

• Experience with public cloud platforms (Azure, GCP) and hybrid/on-premises infrastructures.

• Familiarity with version control systems (Git) and collaborative development processes.

• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with a proven track record in resolving production incidents.

• Strong communication skills; ability to simplify complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences.

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent professional experience.

• Practical experience in implementing and managing agentic AI solutions for the automation of IT operations.

• Familiarity with advanced features of Ansible Tower, including workflows, dynamic inventory, and LDAP/SAML integration.

• Knowledge of CMDB and ServiceNow integrations.

• Understanding of GitOps methodologies and tools such as ArgoCD and Flux.

• Relevant certifications such as HashiCorp Certified Terraform Associate, Ansible Specialist, or other equivalent cloud/infrastructure certifications.

• Contributions to open-source projects or demonstrated thought leadership within the infrastructure automation community.
