πŸ“‹ Description

β€’ Create, compose, and submit grant applications to foundations and institutional donors.

β€’ Ensure proposals are submitted on time, comply with reporting standards, and maintain effective stewardship with funders.

β€’ Collaborate with program, development, and finance teams to address grant requirements and reporting obligations.

β€’ Keep a grants calendar for timely planning and submission of donor proposals and reports.

β€’ Conduct research and qualification assessments to identify high-potential individuals, corporations, and foundations.

β€’ Develop strategies for engaging prospects and building a sustainable donor pipeline.

β€’ Provide regular insights and reports to enhance fundraising strategies.

β€’ Utilize an equity-informed approach in prospect research and analysis.

β€’ Draft and manage donor stewardship communications, including emails and other written materials.

β€’ Support moves management and donor engagement throughout the portfolio.

β€’ Work in conjunction with frontline fundraisers and leadership on fundraising initiatives.

β€’ Participate in portfolio review sessions.

β€’ Assist leadership with funder travel and donor events, including logistics, briefing materials, and relationship cultivation.

β€’ Lead the strategy, solicitation, and tracking of corporate sponsors for State Voices events and gatherings.

β€’ Collaborate with program leaders and senior staff to identify targets, make requests, track income, and enhance sponsor experiences.

β€’ Maintain accurate records in the donor CRM and track research insights, moves management, and prospect assignments.

β€’ Utilize CRM tools to generate prospect lists, profiles, and reporting documents.

β€’ Meet weekly with the Development Officer to review work plans and devise solutions.

β€’ Provide mentorship and learning opportunities for junior team members.

β€’ Stay updated on best practices and trends in foundation fundraising.

β€’ Engage in State Voices national staff activities and other assigned responsibilities.


⛳️ Requirements

β€’ 2-4 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising processes and teams, including grant writing, database management, increased programmatic responsibilities, and prospect research.

β€’ Strong analytical, research, and communication abilities.

β€’ Excellent writing and editing skills; capable of translating complex ideas and strategies into clear, concise, and compelling narratives.

β€’ Ability to communicate deadlines, needs, and action items professionally, both internally and externally.

β€’ Comfortable navigating ambiguity and working under diverse circumstances.

β€’ Experience with donor CRM databases.

β€’ Knowledge of nonprofit 501(c)(3) compliance and donor privacy regulations.

β€’ Experience in maintaining development-related documentation.

β€’ Proven ability to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.

β€’ Commitment to racial equity and valuing individual differences.

β€’ Strong interpersonal skills and the capacity to develop meaningful relationships with funders, colleagues, and team members.

β€’ Experience in or familiarity with the cyclical nature of civic engagement.

β€’ Strong operational and organizational skills, coupled with a hands-on approach.

β€’ Willingness to contribute as a collaborative team member.

β€’ Demonstrated creativity, resourcefulness, appropriate assertiveness, entrepreneurial spirit, and intellectual curiosity.
