This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.
• Develop and execute fundraising campaigns and individual giving strategies for SAF.
• Oversee the management of SAF’s eight donor funds and devise engagement strategies.
• Administer estate giving and planned giving initiatives.
• Foster long-term relationships with donors and partners while establishing a prospect pipeline.
• Ensure timely processing of thank-you letters and donation acknowledgments.
• Act as the staff liaison for the Hill Fund scholarship program.
• Assist new partners in comprehending and engaging with SAF programs.
• Connect partners with relevant program leads to formalize partnerships.
• Create sector-specific proposal pitches targeting academic, industry, state and federal government, and nonprofit audiences.
• Lead the development of the SAF engagement guide.
• Participate in the annual national convention and support staff activities.
• Organize the silent auction and raffle for the convention.
• Coordinate VIP and donor recognition events at the convention and throughout the year.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by the CEO and direct supervisor.
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, nonprofit management, philanthropy, communications, sales, or a related field, or equivalent experience in the nonprofit and association sectors.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in donor management and fundraising within a dynamic, professional setting.
• Willingness to travel 5–10% of the time.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to cultivate, enhance, and sustain positive relationships.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Capability to work independently, make informed decisions, follow directives, and collaborate effectively within a team.
• Detail-oriented, proactive, and self-motivated with a desire for personal and professional development.
• Outstanding time management skills and the ability to multitask and meet various deadlines.
• Proven ability to take ownership of projects from inception to completion with consistent follow-through.
• Comfortable working remotely with reliable internet access and participating in video calls with staff and partners.
• Experience in association and volunteer management is a plus.
• A passion for and knowledge of forests and natural resources is advantageous.
• Sales experience is considered a plus.
