This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the daily technical operations of an Agile software development team focused on operations, maintenance, enhancements, and modernization.
• Ensure compliance with Agile methodologies, engineering standards, and software development lifecycle practices.
• Convert business and user requirements into secure, scalable, and maintainable software solutions.
• Offer technical direction, mentoring, code reviews, and engineering support.
• Design, develop, test, integrate, deploy, troubleshoot, and maintain applications, APIs, services, and software utilities.
• Create and modernize cloud-native applications utilizing modular architectures, containerization, automation, scalability, resiliency, and infrastructure integration.
• Lead DevSecOps initiatives, encompassing automated build, test, security scanning, deployment, and monitoring within CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with architects, cloud engineers, cybersecurity teams, database administrators, operations staff, product owners, and other stakeholders.
• Analyze and design application data models and databases, coordinating database integration.
• Establish coding standards, branching strategies, peer review processes, source control practices, documentation standards, and configuration management procedures.
• Manage codebases through issue tracking, version control, reusable components, automated testing, and technical documentation.
• Identify and rectify defects, performance issues, integration challenges, technical debt, and production support problems.
• Assist with releases, production deployments, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and corrective measures.
• Facilitate backlog refinement, technical estimation, sprint planning, release planning, and prioritization of technical tasks.
• Assess emerging technologies, frameworks, development practices, and automation possibilities.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Engineering, or a relevant technical field; equivalent combinations of education, professional certifications, and directly relevant experience may be considered.
• At least 10 years of experience in software development or software engineering.
• A minimum of 3 years in a technical leadership role, team lead, or in senior development.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe.
• Experience in developing cloud-native or cloud-enabled solutions.
• Background working in a DevSecOps software delivery environment.
• Experience in supporting production applications in an operations and maintenance setting.
• Proven ability to translate business requirements into technical designs and software solutions.
• Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary technical teams and stakeholders.
• Strong grasp of software engineering principles, object-oriented development, design patterns, modular architecture, and secure coding practices.
• Proficiency in enterprise programming languages such as Java, C#, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or similar technologies.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, microservices, application integrations, and distributed software solutions.
• Familiarity with AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Understanding of containers, microservices, serverless technologies, scalability, resiliency, and automated infrastructure.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, code quality analysis, security scanning, dependency management, and automated deployment.
• Strong knowledge of Git-based development workflows, including branching, pull/merge requests, peer reviews, and release management.
• Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases, data modeling, SQL, database integration, and application data management.
• Understanding of software security principles, vulnerability remediation, dependency management, and secure SDLC practices.
• Experience with automated unit, integration, regression, and application testing.
• Capability to perform root-cause analysis and develop effective corrective solutions.
• Ability to balance development, operational support, modernization, cybersecurity requirements, and technical debt.
• Excellent technical documentation skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Proficient in mentoring developers, facilitating technical discussions, resolving technical disagreements, and establishing engineering standards.
• Must pass a fingerprint-based security background check for Public Trust level suitability.
