This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead the Black Voters Matter Development team.
• Enhance financial contributions to the BVM Fund (C4) and the BVM Capacity Building Institute (C3).
• Oversee fundraising initiatives, including management of the donor database, grant writing, fundraising events, and the cultivation of donor and institutional prospects.
• Design and implement national and state-specific fundraising strategies and campaigns.
• Expand BVM’s donor network, grant prospects, and resource partnerships.
• Monitor and evaluate both major and minor fundraising metrics.
• Organize large and small fundraising events.
• Establish and oversee a major gifts system.
• Identify, evaluate, cultivate, and sustain relationships with donors, influencers, foundations, and funds that align with BVM’s mission.
• Manage the institutional giving program and the grant submission process.
• Collaborate with the communications team to develop fundraising messaging and materials for social media, texting, email, print, and radio.
• Supervise the creation of publications that promote fundraising opportunities.
• Ensure that grant, leadership, board, budget, and impact reports are accurately prepared and submitted on time.
• Oversee the hiring of development staff and supervise the development team.
• Provide training on fundraising, grant writing, and donor cultivation to community partners and the BVM partnership infrastructure.
• Report directly to the Executive Director.
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant executive-level experience in fundraising, donor cultivation, grant writing and management, development administration, and team supervision in a mid-sized to large non-profit organization.
• Ideally, experience with a focus on racial justice, voting rights, and equity, with a budget of five to ten million or more.
• Required knowledge of donor databases and donor tracking systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office is essential, particularly with Mail Merge using Excel and Word.
• Ability to work independently in a dynamic, fast-paced, and collaborative team setting.
• Capable of managing multiple projects at once and adapting quickly to change.
• Exceptional writing skills are necessary.
• A commitment to progressive causes is essential.
• A donor-centered approach with a strong emphasis on excellent customer service.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to deliver presentations effectively.
• High attention to detail is crucial.
• Willingness to travel approximately 20% of the time.
• Candidates must reside in Atlanta, GA.
