This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Drive growth, engagement, and adoption metrics for the Dapr open-source community across platforms such as GitHub, Discord, and others.
• Moderate the Dapr Discord channel and future community platforms, addressing technical inquiries, acknowledging contributors, and nurturing an inviting atmosphere.
• Create blog posts, tutorials, architectural guides, and sample applications that highlight Dapr, AI agents, workflows, state management, and service invocation.
• Plan and execute technical webinars, workshops, and live demonstrations.
• Manage the Dapr/Diagrid YouTube channel by scripting, recording, editing, and publishing videos, demos, and recordings of community events.
• Organize and facilitate Dapr Meetups, Dapr Days, conference presentations, and community events both locally in the Bay Area and internationally, with travel as necessary.
• Develop sample applications, starters, and reference architectures that exhibit Dapr production best practices and AI-agent applications.
• Collect developer feedback, identify friction points, relay feature requests, and share success stories with Engineering and Product teams.
• Speak at conferences, engage in podcasts, interact on social media, and publicly represent Dapr and Diagrid.
• Work closely with Engineering, Product, Marketing, Sales, and the wider open-source maintainer team.
• Previous experience in Developer Relations, Developer Advocacy, or Community Management.
• Over 5 years of experience in software engineering.
• Strong practical knowledge of distributed systems, cloud-native technologies, Kubernetes, or microservices.
• Extensive familiarity with Dapr or similar projects such as Temporal, Camunda, or Orkes.
• Proven history of producing blogs, videos, talks, or open-source contributions that achieved notable impact.
• Experience in moderating Discord or Slack communities, growing open-source projects, or successfully running meetup groups.
• Ability to clearly articulate complex subjects, including stateful workflows, actor models, sidecar architecture, and LLM orchestration.
• Proficiency in building demos with Python, Go, TypeScript, or .NET.
• Capacity to excel in a fast-paced startup setting with high ownership and shifting priorities.
• Located in the San Francisco Bay Area.
• Experience in conference speaking is a plus.
• Familiarity with AI agents, LangChain/LlamaIndex, or workflow orchestration is a plus.
• Pre-existing relationships within cloud-native or AI developer communities are a plus.
