This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• Write code that adheres to established software testing standards.

• Generate software builds for deployment on target hardware from source code within the VAS-X system development framework.

• Create integration test specifications in alignment with project timelines.

• Execute designated tests and document any failures encountered.

• Compile FAT test results for each developed function.

• Generate reports on system integration.

• Collaborate closely with the development team to construct, build, and sustain reliable, effective code utilizing suitable Java frameworks or Oracle PL/SQL and APEX.

• Convert business requirements into data models and structures using MSSQL, Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.

• Develop complex, optimized SQL queries.

• Implement, install, and configure software releases.

• Employ Git for version control and collaborative coding efforts.

• Diagnose and debug software applications.

• Provide assistance with technical support inquiries.

• Support software solutions after implementation and address any bugs or issues.

• Document software solutions and systems comprehensively.

• Engage in quality reviews and testing processes.

• Lead UAT sessions with customers.

• Perform application functionality and performance testing using tools like Postman.

• Utilize Bash/Linux for scripting, system administration, and server management tasks.

• Continuously learn and upgrade skills while staying updated with industry trends and technologies.

• Attend conferences and workshops as needed.

• Participate in cross-service activities and projects as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Customer Service Management, or Business Management.

• At least 5 years of relevant experience.

• Completion of Grade 12.

• Standard literacy skills.

• Proficient in English: reading, writing, and speaking.

• IT Degree or Diploma is required.

• Extensive knowledge of Java, including J2EE, Spring, CAMEL, and related technologies.

• Familiarity with CSS and HTML.

• Practical knowledge of operating systems, particularly Linux.

• In-depth understanding of SQL and industry-standard databases.

• Knowledge of J2EE containers and web servers.

• Comprehensive grasp of the Software Development Life Cycle.

• Solid experience with RabbitMQ/ActiveMQ.

• Proficient in Scrum/Agile methodologies.

• Well-versed in Docker and Kubernetes deployments.

• Strong problem-solving abilities and accurate estimation of effort and timelines.
