Developer Advocate – Service Management

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Serve as a subject matter expert in service management, encompassing incident response, on-call duties, IDP, Work Management, Workflow Automation, Agent Builder, and operational automation.

• Develop demos, public speaking materials, blogs, documentation, webinars, open-source contributions, research reports, and other content to enhance Datadog's reputation in DevOps, Monitoring, Observability, and Security.

• Collaborate with product engineering teams to create engaging demos and mentor internal engineering teams on effective communication and presentation skills.

• Engage with open-source communities to promote key messaging and establish new integrations for Datadog.

• Provide feedback on products, documentation, or code contributions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Around 5+ years of experience in roles such as Platform Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or Software Developer.

• Practical experience in on-call/incident response and managing production systems within intricate IT environments.

• Strong knowledge of incident response processes, on-call duties, post-incident reviews, and service level objectives (SLOs).

• Proficiency with service-management tools like Datadog, PagerDuty, Opsgenie, incident.io, Rootly, Jira Cloud Platform, or Cortex.

• Approximately 2+ years of experience in crafting narratives and producing engaging technical content.

• Availability of writing samples, blog posts, demos, or recordings of technical presentations for public viewing.

• Proficient in at least one scripting or programming language, such as Node.js, Python, Go, or Bash.

• Familiarity with APIs, IaaS cloud services, and containerization.

• Experience with ITSM platforms like ServiceNow or Jira Service Management is an advantage.

• Active involvement in SRE, DevOps, or incident-response communities is a plus.
