Developer Relations/Advocate

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Represent VAST Data at industry conferences, meetups, and events as a speaker.

• Design and deliver technical workshops.

• Cultivate relationships with developer communities, AI practitioners, and data engineers.

• Foster the Cosmos community of customers and partners.

• Create technical content such as tutorials, blog posts, videos, and documentation.

• Develop workshop materials for both in-person and virtual formats.

• Build applications, reference architectures, and proof-of-concepts.

• Design and execute hands-on labs for data pipelines and AI workflows.

• Showcase best practices for data platform implementations.

• Construct and demonstrate integrations with popular frameworks.

• Act as a technical advisor to sales engineers and customers.

• Convert customer feedback into product enhancements and increased product usage.

• Create proof-of-concept AI agents and data pipelines utilizing VAST Data.

• Develop educational materials that elucidate VAST Data's role in AI development workflows.

• Collaborate with partners to highlight pipelines utilized by their AI agents.

• Stay updated on emerging AI technologies and frameworks to spot integration opportunities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Background in software development, developer relations, advocacy, or technical evangelism.

• Proven public speaking experience with a track record of delivering technical content.

• Strong technical writing abilities supported by a portfolio of blog posts, documentation, and technical materials.

• Experience in creating and presenting technical workshops or training programs.

• Capacity to translate intricate technical concepts into clear and engaging narratives.

• Proficiency with modern AI frameworks and data processing technologies.

• Familiarity with distributed computing concepts and technologies.

• Software development experience in languages and tools relevant to data engineering (e.g., Python, SQL, vector databases).

• Knowledge of contemporary advanced storage and compute architectures, especially open-source, and their effect on data pipeline performance.

• Awareness of containerization, orchestration, and cloud-native technologies.

• Understanding of modern database technologies.

• Experience with VAST Data products or similar data platform technologies.

• Proven experience in building and deploying data pipelines in production settings.

• Active presence on social media within relevant technical communities.

• Previous experience engaging with enterprise customers in the data infrastructure sector.

• Comfortable presenting to audiences with an engaging speaking style.

• Self-motivated individual capable of working independently while collaborating with teams.

• Creative thinker who can devise innovative demos and content.

• Passionate about technology education and sharing knowledge.

• Empathetic communicator able to understand and address customer challenges.

• Adaptable to shifting priorities and emerging technologies.

• Willingness to travel approximately 20% for conferences, customer visits, and workshops.
