Design – Project Coordinator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop comprehensive designs and fabrication plans utilizing SketchUp.

• Convert project requirements into precise and practical fabrication drawings.

• Assess jobs to determine necessary materials, dimensions, specifications, and fabrication needs.

• Evaluate designs for accuracy, functionality, and manufacturability.

• Modify designs in response to project specifications and fabrication feedback.

• Organize and preserve design files and project documentation effectively.

• Transform existing design concepts into production-ready plans.

• Recognize potential design or fabrication challenges prior to production.

• Employ Mosaic and other pertinent design or project-management software as necessary.

• Oversee 3–4 commercial woodworking projects concurrently.

• Monitor project progress to ensure deadlines and deliverables are achieved.

• Facilitate project transitions from design to fabrication phases.

• Convey project specifications, alterations, and requirements to factories and suppliers.

• Follow up on materials, fabrication needs, and project-related tasks.

• Identify and proactively relay potential delays or issues.

• Assist with project scheduling and administrative coordination.

• Assess required materials and components, managing material orders accordingly.

• Collaborate with suppliers and factories regarding availability, specifications, timelines, and changes.

• Maintain project records, monitor status and action items, and organize information across design, fabrication, and installation.

• Take ownership of assigned projects and responsibilities with minimal supervision.

⛳️ Requirements

• Professional experience with SketchUp.

• Background in creating detailed drawings, plans, or designs for fabrication.

• Familiarity with woodworking, cabinetry, millwork, furniture, or commercial fabrication processes.

• Strong capability to interpret measurements, dimensions, specifications, and project requirements.

• Experience in coordinating projects or managing multiple projects at once.

• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

• Exceptional attention to detail.

• Ability to communicate effectively with factories, suppliers, and production staff.

• Strong problem-solving abilities.

• Capacity to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities.

• Comfortable with learning and using various software systems.

• Proficient in managing shifting priorities while maintaining accuracy.

• Preferred: experience in commercial woodworking, custom furniture, millwork, cabinetry, architectural woodworking, furniture fabrication, retail displays, commercial interiors, construction, manufacturing, CNC/fabrication environments, production planning, project coordination, procurement/material ordering, Mosaic, AutoCAD or similar CAD software, and other 3D modeling or fabrication software.
