Design Engineer – Design Systems

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Contribute to, sustain, and enhance essential design component libraries and functionalities that support hundreds of internal users utilizing React.

• Implement AI solutions when suitable to expedite product design workflows.

• Manage projects from the initial ideation phase through to implementation and rollout.

• Engage in internal user research to guide prioritization and feature development.

• Independently complete medium to large features with minimal guidance.

• Address and resolve support requests associated with the Design System portfolio.

• Collaborate with designers and engineers across teams to uphold the integrity and reliability of the Design System.

• Participate in on-call rotations to ensure critical Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are met.

• Take part in design and code reviews.

• Communicate progress and outcomes to the team and stakeholders.

• Collect input from stakeholders and identify opportunities to advance the design capabilities portfolio.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of professional experience in designing, building, and shipping software.

• Familiarity with single-page application architecture, patterns, and design.

• Experience in retrieving data from GraphQL and REST APIs.

• Proficient in client-side instrumentation and observability.

• Ability to drive features and communicate effectively with team members and partners.

• Capable of contributing to design, architecture, debugging, testing, and producing well-documented code.

• Skilled in JavaScript/TypeScript, React, and Node.js.

• Experience managing web applications with complex state management.

• Current or previous professional experience utilizing Figma Plugins.

• Bonus points for contributions to open-source projects.
