Database Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain SQL Server database objects such as stored procedures, functions, triggers, views, and indexes.

• Create and manage database scripts for releases, schema modifications, test data creation, database backups, and deployments.

• Execute SQL performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting tasks.

• Assist application teams with database-related needs and web service database integrations.

• Oversee database security by granting, reviewing, and managing user privileges and access controls.

• Help with the installation, upgrade, patching, and maintenance of database software.

• Engage in physical database design, capacity planning, and database sizing activities.

• Conduct database backup, recovery, replication, and routine maintenance tasks.

• Support the implementation of DDL changes with appropriate version control and documentation.

• Carry out monthly database audits and address compliance, security, and performance issues.

• Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams during application releases and to ensure stable production environments.

• Maintain technical documentation and ensure compliance with database development and operational standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• 4–5 years of practical experience in SQL Server database development and support.

• Strong proficiency in SQL Server database programming and administration.

• Proven track record in performance tuning, indexing strategies, and query optimization.

• Solid understanding of database design principles, normalization, and data integrity.

• Familiarity with database deployment, version control, and release management practices.

• Knowledge of backup, recovery, replication, and high-availability concepts is advantageous.

• Experience in production support environments is preferred.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
