Database Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Develop and manage ETL pipelines from various data sources.

• Oversee SQL Server instances, databases, objects, data, pipelines, and processes within on-premises and Azure settings.

• Create and uphold ETL pipelines utilizing SSIS and SQL Server Agent jobs, with an increasing emphasis on Microsoft Fabric and Azure Data Factory.

• Construct automation tools, workflows, and processes using PowerShell, Python, and additional scripting tools.

• Design and maintain applications, reporting, and enterprise data warehouse databases.

• Enhance queries, stored procedures, views, and reporting datasets through indexing, execution plan analysis, and T-SQL optimization.

• Strategize, schedule, and oversee database backups and conduct test restores.

• Execute index and statistics maintenance, integrity checks, and capacity monitoring.

• Manage database security, including logins, roles, and permissions.

• Coordinate SQL Server patching, upgrades, and high-availability/disaster recovery.

• Advise on data architecture best practices and SQL database schema design.

• Diagnose and resolve issues with database and ETL objects, providing Tier 2 and 3 support.

• Contribute to projects and tasks for various business departments.

• Document database and ETL specifications, schedules, error handling, monitoring, and common failures.

• Maintain database objects and ETL code using Git.

• Report directly to the Enterprise Project Management Office and Business Intelligence Manager as a member of the Campers Inn IT Team.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of SQL Server database development experience, including advanced T-SQL, is required.

• At least 3 years of experience in ETL development and administration (SSIS or similar) is required.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Teams, and SharePoint is required.

• Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud-based servers and databases is required.

• Knowledge of Microsoft Power BI is required.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Power Apps is preferred.

• Experience with Microsoft Fabric or Azure Data Factory is preferred.

• Preferred experience in Python and PowerShell scripting.

• Experience with Power BI semantic models and DAX is preferred.

• Background in the RV or Auto industry is preferred.

• Strong oral and written communication skills, along with excellent interpersonal abilities.

• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as necessary.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

• Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team.

• Solid analytical and troubleshooting skills with a keen attention to detail.
