Database Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as the top technical authority on database architecture for designated client accounts and strategic projects.

• Direct the development of architecture strategies and roadmaps for enterprise database and data platform environments.

• Spearhead large-scale modernization, migration, consolidation, and cloud transformation initiatives.

• Establish and uphold database architecture standards, governance models, design frameworks, and best practices.

• Counsel executive leadership teams on database strategies, technology investments, risk management, and transformation planning.

• Design highly resilient, secure, scalable, and automated database solutions that support mission-critical workloads.

• Collaborate with product, engineering, consulting, and sales teams to enhance Ensono's database services portfolio.

• Lead technical due diligence efforts, assessments, and architecture reviews for key strategic opportunities.

• Offer expert advice on database automation, AI-enabled operations, platform engineering, data modernization, containerized database platforms, and cloud-native architectures.

• Support strategic pursuits by crafting unique database solutions and participating in executive client presentations.

• Serve as a trusted advisor to C-level executives, business leaders, and senior technology stakeholders.

• Mentor and develop Solution Architects, Database Architects, Consultants, and Engineering teams.

• Promote continuous improvement through innovation, automation, operational excellence, and modernization.

• Represent Ensono as a subject matter expert at industry events, client workshops, technical publications, and strategic engagements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.

• Over 10 years of experience in database architecture, engineering, administration, or leading enterprise data platforms.

• More than 7 years of experience in designing and managing enterprise-scale database modernization and transformation efforts.

• Expert-level knowledge of cloud database services and proficiency in at least one of Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle Database, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, NoSQL platforms, or cloud-native database services.

• Significant experience in designing highly available, mission-critical database environments for large global enterprises.

• Deep expertise in database architecture, performance optimization, scalability, security, governance, compliance, automation, and disaster recovery.

• Proven track record of leading cloud transformation efforts involving Azure, AWS, and hybrid architectures.

• Demonstrated success in collaborating with executive stakeholders to align technology strategies with business objectives.

• Experience in establishing enterprise architecture standards, governance frameworks, reference architectures, and best practices.

• Strong grasp of application architectures, infrastructure platforms, networking, security, and DevOps principles.

• Proven ability to manage complex initiatives involving multiple teams, stakeholders, technologies, and business units.

• Outstanding communication, consulting, facilitation, and executive presentation abilities.

• Advanced certifications in Azure, AWS, Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Google Cloud, or related technologies (preferred).

• Familiarity with enterprise data platforms, analytics, data warehousing, and data governance frameworks (preferred).

• Knowledge of AI, machine learning platforms, and modern data architectures (preferred).

• Experience with Kubernetes, OpenShift, and containerized database deployments (preferred).

• Awareness of FinOps, platform engineering, and SRE principles (preferred).

• Experience in influencing product strategy, service development, and technology investment decisions (preferred).

• Demonstrated industry thought leadership through speaking engagements, publications, advisory boards, or technical communities (preferred).

• Consulting or managed services experience supporting large global enterprises (preferred).

• Master's Degree in a related field (preferred).
