Mid-Level Oracle Database Administrator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Administer, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Oracle and SQL databases

• Provide support for database provisioning, installations, upgrades, patching, and server maintenance

• Oversee backup, restore, High Availability (HA), Disaster Recovery (DR), and failover processes

• Monitor and optimize database performance, alerts, and operational dashboards

• Implement database security, auditing, configuration, and compliance standards

• Create SQL/PL-SQL scripts and automate database administration tasks

• Investigate database incidents and carry out root-cause analysis

• Collaborate with application, infrastructure, security, and operations teams

• Assist with occasional scheduled after-hours maintenance activities

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 4 years of experience in database administration

• Practical experience with Oracle Database, Oracle Grid, Oracle RMAN, and PL/SQL

• Proficient in SQL, SQL Server, SQL Clustering, SQL Scripting, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, and Microsoft Access

• Experienced in creating and managing standalone Oracle and SQL databases

• Skilled in identifying and resolving database-related issues

• Experienced in server maintenance, software installation, upgrades, and patching

• Knowledgeable in High Availability (HA), Disaster Recovery (DR), backup, and restore processes

• Proficient in database performance tuning, monitoring, security, automation, and incident management

• Ability to work independently as well as collaborate with technical teams

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and documentation abilities

• Must reside in and conduct all work from within the United States

• Willingness to undergo federal background/suitability screening and fingerprinting if required

• Must be available to work 8 hours per day between 7:30 AM and 6:00 PM ET

• Capable of supporting occasional scheduled after-hours maintenance

• U.S. citizenship is required

• Professional Oracle certification, such as OCP, OCA, or equivalent, is preferred

• Current or previous federal background investigation or Public Trust is preferred

• Experience in federal government or federal contracting is preferred

• Familiarity with ServiceNow, Idera, SolarWinds, Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), Datadog, and/or Dynatrace is preferred

• Experience with cloud database environments, including OCI, is preferred
