This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot SQL and Oracle databases.
• Assist with database provisioning, installations, upgrades, patching, and server upkeep.
• Handle backup, restoration, High Availability (HA), Disaster Recovery (DR), and failover procedures.
• Monitor and optimize database performance, alerts, and operational dashboards.
• Enforce database security, auditing, configuration, and compliance standards.
• Create SQL scripts and automate database administration tasks.
• Resolve database incidents and conduct root-cause analysis.
• Collaborate with teams in application development, infrastructure, security, and operations.
• Provide support for occasional scheduled maintenance activities outside of regular hours.
• At least 4 years of experience in database administration.
• Practical experience with SQL, SQL Server, SQL Clustering, and SQL Scripting.
• Familiarity with Oracle Database, Oracle Grid, Oracle RMAN, PL/SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, and Microsoft Access.
• Proficient in creating and managing standalone SQL and Oracle databases.
• Skilled in identifying and resolving database issues.
• Experience with server maintenance, software installations, upgrades, and patching.
• Knowledge of High Availability (HA), Disaster Recovery (DR), backup, and restoration processes.
• Expertise in database performance tuning, monitoring, security, automation, and incident management.
• Capable of working independently while effectively collaborating with technical teams.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and documentation abilities.
• Must live and perform all work within the United States.
• Willingness to undergo federal background/suitability screening and fingerprinting if necessary.
• Availability for 8 working hours a day between 7:30 AM and 6:00 PM ET.
• Ability to support occasional scheduled maintenance outside of regular hours.
• U.S. citizenship required.
• Preferred: Professional SQL Server/database certification.
• Preferred: Current or previous federal background investigation or Public Trust clearance.
• Preferred: Experience in federal government or federal contracting roles.
• Preferred: Familiarity with ServiceNow, Idera, SolarWinds, Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), Datadog, and/or Dynatrace.
• Preferred: Experience supporting cloud database environments.
