Senior SQL Database Administrator, DBA

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee, configure, maintain, and enhance enterprise SQL and Oracle databases.

• Handle database provisioning, installations, upgrades, patching, and server upkeep.

• Create and sustain backup, restore, High Availability (HA), and Disaster Recovery (DR) protocols.

• Execute advanced tuning for database, queries, optimizers, and storage performance.

• Set up and uphold monitoring, alerting, security, compliance, and database configuration standards.

• Develop SQL scripts and automation to streamline database operations.

• Diagnose complex database incidents, conduct root-cause analysis, and aid in incident prevention.

• Collaborate with infrastructure, application, security, and operations teams.

• Effectively communicate with staff and management.

• Provide support for occasional scheduled after-hours patching, reboots, and maintenance.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in database administration and related database disciplines.

• Strong practical experience with SQL, SQL Server, SQL Clustering, and SQL Scripting.

• Proven experience with Oracle Database, Oracle Grid, Oracle RMAN, PL/SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, and Microsoft Access.

• Experience in creating and managing standalone SQL and Oracle databases.

• Proficient in identifying and triaging database and server issues.

• Familiarity with server maintenance, software installations, upgrades, and patching.

• Experience with High Availability (HA), Disaster Recovery (DR), backup, and restore processes.

• Knowledge of database performance tuning, monitoring, security, compliance, automation, and incident management.

• Capability to work independently and collaborate effectively across technical teams.

• Strong communication, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.

• Must reside in and perform all work from within the United States.

• Must be willing to undergo federal background/suitability screening and fingerprinting if necessary.

• Must be available for 8 working hours per day within 7:30 AM–6:00 PM ET.

• Must be able to support occasional scheduled after-hours maintenance.
