This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee, configure, maintain, and enhance enterprise Oracle and SQL databases.
• Handle database provisioning, installations, upgrades, patching, and server upkeep.
• Create and sustain backup, restore, High Availability (HA), and Disaster Recovery (DR) protocols.
• Execute advanced database, query, optimizer, and storage performance tuning.
• Establish and uphold database monitoring, alerting, security, compliance, and configuration standards.
• Create SQL/PL-SQL scripts and automation to streamline database operations.
• Diagnose intricate database incidents, carry out root-cause analysis, and assist in incident prevention.
• Partner with infrastructure, application, security, and operations teams.
• Convey technical issues and suggestions to staff and management.
• Assist with occasional scheduled after-hours patching, server reboots, and maintenance tasks.
• 8+ years of experience in database administration and related database fields.
• Strong practical experience with Oracle Database, Oracle Grid, Oracle RMAN, and PL/SQL.
• Proven experience with SQL, SQL Server, SQL Clustering, SQL Scripting, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, and Microsoft Access.
• Experience in creating and managing standalone Oracle and SQL databases.
• Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database and server issues.
• Background in database/server maintenance, software installations, upgrades, and patching.
• Knowledge of High Availability (HA), Disaster Recovery (DR), backup, and restore processes.
• Experience in database performance tuning, monitoring, security, compliance, automation, and incident management.
• Ability to work autonomously and collaborate effectively across various technical teams.
• Strong communication, troubleshooting, and documentation capabilities.
• Must reside in the United States and perform all work from within the country.
• Must be willing to undergo federal background/suitability screening and fingerprinting if necessary.
• Must be available for 8 working hours per day within the customer's 7:30 AM–6:00 PM ET core-hours window.
• Must be able to assist with occasional scheduled after-hours maintenance.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Professional Oracle certification, such as OCP, OCA, or equivalent, is preferred.
• Current or prior federal background investigation or Public Trust is preferred.
• Experience in federal government or federal contracting is preferred.
• Familiarity with ServiceNow, Idera, SolarWinds, Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), Datadog, and/or Dynatrace is preferred.
• Experience in cloud database environments, including Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), is preferred.
