This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Install, configure, patch, and upgrade enterprise Database Management Systems.
• Design, create, and maintain databases, schemas, tables, indexes, stored procedures, and various database objects.
• Conduct database performance tuning, optimization, indexing, and query analysis.
• Monitor the health of databases, performance metrics, and system availability.
• Implement security controls for databases, manage user permissions, encryption, and access management.
• Carry out security audits and vulnerability assessments.
• Develop, test, and uphold backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures.
• Ensure high availability and business continuity through replication, failover, and recovery planning.
• Configure database monitoring tools, alerts, notifications, and automated maintenance jobs.
• Oversee storage utilization and plan for capacity growth.
• Troubleshoot database issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective measures.
• Collaborate with software development teams to promote database best practices.
• Assist with database migrations, application releases, and production deployments.
• Document database configurations, operational procedures, and technical standards.
• Participate in after-hours maintenance windows and production support as necessary.
• Work alongside software developers, system administrators, cybersecurity personnel, and project stakeholders to ensure database solutions meet business and application needs.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Consideration may be given to equivalent combinations of education and professional experience.
• At least 7 years of professional experience in database administration.
• Proficient in administering Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, or PostgreSQL.
• Experienced in database performance tuning, query optimization, backup and recovery, disaster recovery planning, and security administration.
• Experienced in supporting production database environments.
• Strong understanding of database architecture, data integrity, High Availability (HA), replication technologies, and database monitoring tools.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex production database issues.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Capability to work independently in a fast-paced Agile environment.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information and be capable of obtaining a government-granted security clearance.
• May be subject to criminal history, employment and education verification, drug testing, and creditworthiness investigations.
• Preferred certifications include Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, Microsoft SQL Server Certification, Oracle Database Administrator Certified Professional, PostgreSQL Certification, AWS Certified Database – Specialty, Security+, and ITIL Foundation.
• Compensation range of $80,000–$110,000 per year.
