Database Administrator, DBA

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Oversee, configure, and sustain MSSQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MySQL databases.

• Evaluate database performance and enhance queries, indexes, and storage structures.

• Administer database roles, privileges, and access controls effectively.

• Develop and uphold backup and disaster recovery protocols.

• Diagnose and resolve database-related issues, performance slowdowns, and outages.

• Work collaboratively with development teams to refine database design, stored procedures, and queries.

• Streamline database maintenance tasks through scripting and database tools.

• Execute database upgrades, patches, and migrations as needed.

• Assist with database deployment in both cloud and on-premises settings within DevOps teams.

• Keep comprehensive documentation of database architectures, configurations, and procedures.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Database Administrator.

• Expertise in administering MSSQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MySQL.

• Extensive experience with SQL queries, indexing, stored procedures, and performance tuning.

• Knowledge of database security best practices and management of access controls.

• Familiarity with backup, recovery, and high-availability solutions.

• Experience working with NoSQL databases.

• Understanding of cloud database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database, or similar).

• Proficient in scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation purposes.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

• Certification in database management (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate).
