Database Administrator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Wisconsin.

📋 Description

• Design, test, implement, and continuously enhance database functionalities, features, and APIs.

• Work collaboratively with software engineers, designers, product managers, end-users, and fellow database team engineers.

• Employ critical thinking, experimentation, data analysis, user feedback, and industry best practices to achieve business objectives.

• Create and integrate secure, user-friendly, easy-to-manage, fully cohesive database products.

• Oversee and manage the technical facets of the database product lifecycle, encompassing code, infrastructure, data, security, CI/CD, and documentation.

• Contribute to the standards of database engineering and software development.

• Improve and streamline the database user experience for development teams.

• Apply software engineering methodologies utilizing both cloud-based and on-premises tools.

• Carry out additional assigned responsibilities.


⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in development, infrastructure systems, operations, and security.

• Ability to quickly adapt and learn new technologies or techniques.

• Open-minded problem-solving approach focused on customer needs.

• Strong collaboration skills with a commitment to team success.

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred).

• Experience in object-oriented development using GitLab, PowerShell, Python, Shell, or Go (preferred).

• At least 2 years of experience in software or infrastructure platform development (preferred).

• Familiarity with application design patterns, event-driven architecture, and testing strategies (preferred).

• Experience in continuous integration, continuous deployment, and test-driven development (preferred).

• Experience with major cloud platforms, specifically GCP and/or AWS (preferred).

• Background in infrastructure as code and GitOps methodologies (preferred).

• Experience in deploying, configuring, migrating, and supporting common stateful distributed systems, messaging, or database technologies such as Oracle, MSSQL, and MySQL (preferred).

• Experience with CloudSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and Redis (preferred).
