Data Strategist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +3 more locations.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on complex projects to guide product strategy.

• Recognize opportunities where data, machine learning (ML), and artificial intelligence (AI) can generate business value.

• Refine opportunities and use cases by aligning with business objectives and customer needs, ensuring measurable outcomes.

• Assess the current data and technology landscape, including aspects like data capture, storage, governance, and utilization.

• Stay updated on traditional ML, generative AI, and agentic systems.

• Formulate strategies for data, AI, and technology transformation.

• Develop capability maps, dependency maps, and transformation roadmaps.

• Design experiments, prototypes, and proof-of-concepts to mitigate uncertainty.

• Convey technical concepts and architectural trade-offs to executives and business stakeholders.

• Convert business objectives, constraints, and outcomes into actionable insights for technical teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in business strategy, digital transformation, product strategy, technology strategy, or a related field.

• Background in evaluating AI applications, assessing risks, and identifying opportunities for improvement.

• Strong comprehension of contemporary data systems that support business processes and enable analytical or AI functionalities.

• Practical understanding of machine learning principles and the ML development lifecycle.

• Capability to prototype and create functional proof-of-concept demonstrations with operational code and systems integration.

• Proficient in assessing technical proposals and collaborating directly with engineers, data scientists, architects, product teams, and business leaders.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Outstanding written, verbal, and presentation skills.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and handle ambiguity and uncertainty with ease.

• Technical proficiency in relational databases, data warehouses, data lakes, data models and schemas, ETL/ELT processes, cloud data platforms, business intelligence and analytics tools, ML workflows, generative AI, AI agents, as well as data security, privacy, and governance.

• Comfort with creating functional prototypes using Python and JavaScript.
