Data Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the data infrastructure for the Azure-based AI/ML engineering platform.

• Design and maintain ETL pipelines utilizing Azure Data Factory and Azure Databricks.

• Organize engineering design parameters and simulation outcomes for machine learning applications.

• Conduct statistical and exploratory analysis to uncover design parameters that influence performance results.

• Confirm model outputs by comparing them with ground-truth simulation data.

• Identify and report data quality issues that may skew downstream models.

• Monitor the performance of models and pipelines over time.

• Create Power BI dashboards to enhance visibility into data and model health.

• Utilize design of experiments methodologies to effectively sample the design space.

• Collaborate closely with ML engineers, LLM engineers, and MLOps teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Practical experience in building and validating AI/ML models.

• Over 10 years in a data science position, preferably with a background in engineering, simulation, or scientific/experimental data.

• Proficient in Python, particularly with libraries such as pandas, NumPy, and scikit-learn.

• Strong SQL skills.

• Knowledge of Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse, or a comparable cloud data stack.

• Solid understanding of hypothesis testing, regression analysis, design of experiments (DOE), and variance/sensitivity analysis.

• Experience with data visualization and dashboarding tools such as Power BI or similar platforms.
