This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design, develop, and implement scalable solutions for data engineering, machine learning, analytics, and visualization in Clinical Development.
• Collaborate with data scientists and cross-functional teams to convert business requirements into effective data pipelines and analytical tools.
• Work alongside research scientists and data scientists to create AI and advanced analytics solutions that expedite drug research and development.
• Create, write, and test data and machine learning pipelines.
• Gather business requirements and user stories for new or improved analytic solutions.
• Provide training to users on the solutions offered by the CfDA Data Science organization.
• Engage in process improvement initiatives.
• Follow Amgen policies, SOPs, and controlled documents.
• Involve in the development and review of CfDA Data Sciences policies, SOPs, and controlled documents.
• Participate in external professional organizations, conferences, and meetings.
• Assist in the implementation of both internally developed and externally provided analytic solutions.
• Innovate new strategies to address client analytics challenges and effectively communicate results and methodologies.
• Suggest ongoing enhancements to methods and algorithms that produce analytic insights.
• Ph.D. degree or Master’s degree.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated ability to write robust code in R and Python.
• Familiarity with common machine learning algorithms and techniques, including neural networks, random forest classifiers, ensemble methods, and NLP.
• Proficient in the Linux operating system and related shell commands.
• Experience working efficiently in a globally dispersed team environment.
• Background in drug development in relevant industries or academic research.
• Knowledge of distributed compute and data technologies such as Spark and Python Dask.
• Experience with DevOps frameworks like Git.
• Experience in building and deploying analytic solutions in a cloud environment.
• Capability to work independently.
• Ability to explain complex concepts to a non-technical audience.
