Data Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.

📋 Description

• Assist a Federal Agency in managing and analyzing enterprise data programs.

• Design, train, and assess custom machine learning and AI models using both supervised and unsupervised approaches.

• Utilize NLP techniques to extract, enhance, and analyze unstructured data.

• Enhance and broaden entity extraction processes by integrating new entities and models.

• Assess enterprise data assets and create models and techniques for data enrichment.

• Process, cleanse, and prepare both structured and unstructured data for analysis and model development.

• Create data visualizations that convey analytical insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Collaborate within an Agile delivery team during sprint planning, reviews, and continuous delivery processes.

• Partner with the Analytic team to further customer mission goals.

• No supervisory duties involved.

• No travel is anticipated.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of extensive experience with at least one analytical or statistical programming language, such as Python, R, or SQL.

• More than 2 years of experience in training custom Machine Learning and AI models, including both supervised and unsupervised techniques.

• Expertise in Natural Language Processing (NLP) with a focus on unstructured data.

• At least 3 years of experience working with SQL databases and coding.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in data visualization tools.

• Over 2 years of experience in manipulating unstructured data.

• Proven experience in a fast-paced Agile development setting.

• Experience supporting federal law enforcement or mission-critical data programs is advantageous.

• Bachelor's degree in data science or a related quantitative discipline; relevant experience may substitute for educational qualifications.

• An active secret clearance is mandatory.

• Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening.

• Subject to random drug screenings during employment.

• Ability to remain in a stationary position for 75% of the time is required.

• Must be able to work indoors 90% of the time.

• Frequently lift standard office equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
