This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Design and create dimensional data models and frameworks to enhance the performance of analytical reporting and facilitate data discovery for end-users.
• Develop and refine ETL processes for the extraction, transformation, cleansing, and loading of data between transactional and analytical systems.
• Lead design discussions and conduct requirements gathering sessions with subject matter experts.
• Provide guidance on technical solutions within complex, multi-system environments.
• Execute SQL development, optimize queries, and conduct data profiling.
• Simplify technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
• Impact policies, practices, and procedures across various teams.
• Mentor and offer technical support to junior team members.
• Create reports, dashboards, and OLAP databases.
• Deliver solutions in business intelligence and information management.
• A valid DoD Secret clearance is required.
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, combined with 5–7 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent mix of education and experience.
• Expertise in dimensional data modeling (fact/dimension design).
• Extensive knowledge of data warehousing, data marts, and principles of data architecture.
• Proficient in advanced SQL development, query optimization, and data profiling techniques.
• Demonstrated experience in source-to-target mapping and the design and implementation of ETL processes.
• Strong grasp of data structures, relationships, and database design principles (PK/FK, schemas).
• Proven ability to translate business needs into technical data solutions and models.
• Experience navigating complex, multi-system environments.
• Experience in leading design sessions and facilitating requirements gathering.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication abilities, with the capacity to present technical concepts to a varied audience.
• Experience in mentoring or providing technical direction to colleagues.
• Capability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment.
• Practical experience with BI and analytics tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Alteryx.
• Familiarity with enterprise ERP systems like SAP or Oracle.
• Understanding of data lake architectures and modern analytics ecosystems.
• Experience in developing data modeling standards and comprehensive documentation.
• Knowledge of OLAP tools and technologies.
• Background in statistical analysis, predictive forecasting, and trend interpretation.
