This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Facilitate requirements gathering and discovery sessions with stakeholders to convert business inquiries into precise, testable analytical and reporting requirements.
• Ensure data and reporting outputs are validated for accuracy, completeness, and logical consistency prior to their release in production dashboards.
• Execute data and metric analysis to support the discovery process.
• Take ownership of creating and maintaining Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), technical documentation, and other essential resources.
• Develop user stories with comprehensive acceptance criteria for technical teams involved in data architecture, data/analytics engineering, and BI report development.
• Identify and report discrepancies between source data, transformed data, and reported values.
• Assist in assessing incoming requests against established intake criteria.
• Author and uphold business requirements documents, technical documentation, and process documentation.
• Participate in scrum ceremonies and effectively communicate across various audiences.
• Collaborate closely with the Data & Business Intelligence Product Owner, data engineers, BI developers, and business stakeholders throughout the organization.
• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
• 1-2 years of relevant experience in business analysis, data analysis, or a reporting-related role is required.
• A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is preferred.
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations is preferred.
• Exceptional presentation and written communication skills.
• Capability to critically analyze data and requirements, think swiftly, and address conflicting needs.
• Self-motivated with the ability to maintain focus amidst competing ad hoc requests.
• Strong task management and organizational abilities.
• Proficient in using a computer, business phone, office software, video conferencing tools, and other computer programs including Google Workplace (Docs, Sheets, Calendar, Gmail, G Suite applications, etc.).
• Intermediate understanding of macOS and/or Windows operating systems.
• Proficiency in SQL is required.
• Familiarity with modern BI/data stacks (e.g., Snowflake, dbt) is desirable.
• Experience with Tableau or similar BI reporting tools.
• Knowledge of software and project management tools such as Jira, Asana, or their equivalents.
• Ability to perform essential functions of the role with or without accommodation.
• Capability to sit for at least one hour at a time (totaling 6-8 hours/day).
• Keyboarding for extended periods (totaling 4-6 hours/day).
• Using a phone with or without a headset for prolonged durations (totaling 2-4 hours/day).
• Travel may be necessary for this position, up to 10% of working hours.
