This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +25 more states.
• Assist in the design, implementation, and ongoing enhancement of security operations and engineering capabilities.
• Respond to and triage Tier 1 and Tier 2 security incidents and alerts, including investigation, containment, and escalation procedures.
• Oversee security event queues and evaluate alerts generated by SIEM and other security tools.
• Record findings, resolutions, system behaviors, requirements, test outcomes, and process modifications.
• Assess security systems, architectures, and data flows to uncover vulnerabilities and identify coverage gaps.
• Convert business requirements into functional specifications, process flows, and user stories.
• Support security validation and testing efforts.
• Examine trends in security events, alerts, and incidents to recognize emerging threat patterns and suggest operational enhancements.
• Assist in incident investigations, root-cause analyses, and post-incident evaluations.
• Ensure that security operations and engineering tasks comply with NIST 800-53, PCI-DSS, and internal policies.
• Collaborate closely with the CISO and Cyber Team to pinpoint security gaps and operationalize threat intelligence.
• High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
• 2-3 years of experience in cybersecurity, security operations, IT security analysis, or a comparable security position.
• Practical experience with security tools (SWG, CASB, ZTNA, Cloud SIEM, EDR/XDR, DLP).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation abilities.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, capable of explaining technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Knowledge of encryption, authentication, and secure protocols.
• Experience in supporting security control testing or penetration testing activities.
• Availability to work during regular business hours, Monday to Friday, and participate in after-hours, weekend, or on-call support rotations as required.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
• U.S. citizenship is mandatory.
• Capability to obtain a government security clearance.
• Must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
• An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline is preferred.
• Familiarity with security frameworks and standards (NIST 800-53, STIGs) is preferred.
• Experience with AWS cloud security is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of query languages or scripting (KQL, SPL, SQL, Python) is preferred.
• Possession of industry-recognized security certifications (GSEC, Security+, CySA+, SSCP) is preferred.
