This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.
• Oversee automation projects from purchase order to customer acceptance for LG Electronics' Smart Factory Solutions division in North America.
• Manage program timelines, milestones, and gate reviews for autonomous mobile robots, automated transport systems, collaborative robot cells, simulations, and turnkey integration projects.
• Act as the primary point of contact for customer plant teams and facilitate regular program status meetings.
• Recognize, monitor, and escalate program risks and issues, ensuring clear ownership and deadlines.
• Track engineering outputs, including drawings, software builds, factory and site acceptance tests, and verify readiness against the customer timeline.
• Facilitate customer IT onboarding, security assessments, and system access requirements in coordination with customer IT and internal software teams.
• Organize shipping, site readiness, and installation schedules in collaboration with Engineering and logistics teams.
• Identify changes in scope, document their impacts, and forward them to the commercial team for assessment.
• Lead customer acceptance and buy-off documentation, ensuring invoicing milestones are met.
• Transition finalized programs to service and support with comprehensive documentation and lessons learned.
• At a senior level: manage multiple concurrent programs across various sites, conduct customer executive program reviews, and establish program management standards, templates, and reporting protocols.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, or a related discipline.
• Senior level: 8+ years of experience in program or project management related to industrial automation, capital equipment, or manufacturing supplier launches.
• Mid level: 4+ years in similar fields.
• Proven experience in launching equipment or systems in OEM or large manufacturing plants, including gate reviews and customer acceptance processes.
• Experience in coordinating engineering teams, suppliers, and customer IT or security onboarding processes.
• Knowledge of automotive launch processes such as APQP is preferred.
• Experience collaborating with overseas engineering teams across different time zones is preferred.
• PMP or equivalent certification is preferred.
• Strong scheduling and milestone discipline with clear written status updates.
• Excellent customer-facing communication skills, including delivering challenging news regarding schedules and scope changes.
• Exceptional organizational skills across multiple workstreams and stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel frequently within the country to customer sites.
