Crop Claims Field Adjuster I/II/Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Iowa.

📋 Description

• Conduct field inspections with minimal oversight.

• Interpret maps and aerial images.

• Measure fields and storage facilities.

• Discuss findings related to crop loss with farmers on complex, non-standard, and contentious claims.

• Communicate intricate regulations and interpretations to claimants, agents, and industry professionals.

• Investigate crop damage incidents.

• Document and relay loss information to accurately assess potential indemnities.

• Collect pertinent facts, apply relevant laws, and determine fundamental principles of negligence.

• Complete evaluations and audits of junior adjusters as assigned.

• Maintain a thorough understanding of regulatory and company policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal standards.

• Participate in team initiatives and achieve related objectives.

• Travel approximately 50% of the time to serve the designated territory.

• Assist the agricultural community through the adjustment of crop insurance claims.

⛳️ Requirements

• For RCIS Crop Claims Field Adjuster I: High School Diploma or Equivalent and at least 6 months of experience in agriculture.

• For RCIS Crop Claims Field Adjuster I: Crop Adjuster Proficiency Program Certification (CAPP) must be secured within 180 days of employment.

• For RCIS Crop Claims Field Adjuster II: High School Diploma or Equivalent and a minimum of 2 years of experience in crop insurance and claims adjustment.

• For RCIS Crop Claims Field Adjuster II: Crop Adjuster Proficiency Program Certification (CAPP) is mandatory.

• For RCIS Crop Claims Specialist: High School Diploma or Equivalent and 4 or more years of experience in the agricultural or crop insurance sector.

• For RCIS Crop Claims Specialist: CAPP must be obtained within 180 days of hiring.

• Reliable personal transportation is required.

• A valid Driver’s License is necessary.

• Willingness to travel within the assigned territory; specialists may travel outside their designated area.

• Capability to walk up to 3 miles in agricultural fields.

• Ability to climb storage bins up to 25 feet high.

• Capacity to lift weights ranging from 25 lbs. to 50 lbs.

• Aptitude for working outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditions.

• Preferred: Experience with fruit crops, such as apples.

• Preferred: Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

• Preferred: Excellent organizational and prioritization abilities.

• Preferred: Experience as a Crop Claims Field Adjuster.

• Preferred: Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office applications.
