Critical Power Commissioning Project Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee the commissioning strategy, execution, and ongoing enhancement for Electrify America and Electrify Canada.

• Take charge of the commissioning process from the completion of construction to site acceptance and operational transition.

• Establish standards, requirements, workflows, and acceptance criteria for site readiness.

• Define and uphold the handoff process from construction to commissioning.

• Supervise Design-Build firms, equipment manufacturers, commissioning vendors, and technical service providers.

• Set expectations regarding schedule compliance, quality, safety, and commissioning execution.

• Act as the primary subject matter expert in commissioning.

• Offer practical support for commissioning, startup validation, and the resolution of technical issues.

• Create training, certification, and knowledge management programs.

• Instruct internal teams, manufacturers, and service providers on commissioning standards and requirements.

• Facilitate onboarding for new equipment manufacturers and establish processes for startup and validation.

• Recommend and allocate commissioning personnel based on project demands and geographic considerations.

• Lead and assist a dedicated team of traveling commissioning technicians.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

• Technical knowledge of electrical principles and equipment.

• Experience in troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems.

• Mechanical aptitude.

• Experience in developing and implementing training materials.

• Strong abilities in time management and multitasking.

• Willingness and ability to travel approximately 40% of the time.

• Availability to work outside standard business hours as needed.

• Desired: NFPA70E, OSHA30, or other relevant safety certifications in good standing.

• Desired: Crane/lift certification.

• Desired: Other relevant electrical certifications.

• Desired: Experience in switchgear/power system testing and repair.
