Crisis Specialist, Chat/Text

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Offer compassionate and nonjudgmental crisis intervention through chat and SMS text.

• Perform suicide risk evaluations and behavioral health assessments while aiding in de-escalation.

• Work in collaboration with on-duty clinicians for instances requiring higher-level intervention.

• Create safety and action plans with individuals experiencing a crisis.

• Connect callers with suitable community resources and crisis response partners.

• Ensure accurate documentation of interactions in the electronic health record.

• Adhere to established 988 Lifeline protocols and performance standards.

• Support team objectives related to response times, availability, and quality of care.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or GED along with four (4) years of full-time behavioral health experience, or a combination of education and experience.

• Bachelor’s degree with 1 year of Behavioral Health experience, or Associate degree with 2 years of Behavioral Health experience.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Capacity to multitask across various software platforms in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to maintain focus and composure during emotionally charged conversations.

• Agency Affiliated Counselor (AAC) credential must be obtained by the end of the probationary period; applications are to be submitted within 30 days of hire.

• Experience in crisis intervention or suicide prevention.

• Background in behavioral health or contact center operations.

• Must reside in Washington, Arizona, Ohio, or Texas.

• Reliable high-speed internet connection via wired connection; no hotspots or satellite connections permitted.

• Smartphone must support Microsoft Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).

• Private and quiet workspace appropriate for confidential discussions.

• Capability to sit and use a headset for prolonged durations.

• Completion of a brief computer skills assessment is required as part of the hiring process.
