Crisis Specialist, Chat/Text

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Offer compassionate and nonjudgmental crisis intervention through chat and SMS text.

• Perform suicide risk assessments and behavioral health evaluations while aiding in de-escalation.

• Work collaboratively with on-shift clinicians when advanced intervention is necessary.

• Create safety and action plans with individuals in crisis situations.

• Link callers to suitable community resources and crisis response partners.

• Precisely document interactions in the electronic health record.

• Adhere to established 988 Lifeline protocols and performance standards.

• Contribute towards team objectives regarding response times, availability, and quality of care.

• Offer emotional support to individuals in mental health crises through the 988 Crisis Services Chat/Text Team.

⛳️ Requirements

• A high school diploma or GED along with four (4) years of full-time behavioral health experience, or a blend of education and experience (Bachelor’s degree + 1 year of Behavioral Health experience, Associate degree + 2 years of Behavioral Health experience).

• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

• Capability to multitask across various software platforms in a fast-paced setting.

• Ability to maintain focus and composure during emotionally charged conversations.

• Agency Affiliated Counselor (AAC) credential must be obtained by the end of the probationary period; applications should be submitted within 30 days of hire.

• Experience in crisis intervention or suicide prevention.

• Background in behavioral health or contact center operations.

• Must be a resident of Washington, Arizona, Ohio, or Texas.

• Access to reliable high-speed internet with a wired connection; no hotspots or satellite connections permitted.

• Smartphone capable of utilizing Microsoft Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).

• A quiet, private workspace conducive to confidential discussions.

• Willingness to sit and use a headset for extended durations.

• Successful completion of a brief computer skills assessment as part of the hiring process.
