This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +3 more states.
• Deliver compassionate and nonjudgmental crisis intervention via telephone.
• Perform assessments for suicide risk and behavioral health, while aiding in de-escalation efforts.
• Work collaboratively with on-duty clinicians when higher-level interventions are necessary.
• Create safety and action plans tailored to individuals experiencing crises.
• Link callers to suitable community resources and crisis response partners.
• Maintain accurate documentation of interactions within the electronic health record.
• Adhere to established 988 Lifeline protocols and performance benchmarks.
• Play a role in achieving team objectives related to response times, availability, and quality of care.
• Offer emotional support, hope, connection, and practical assistance to individuals facing mental health crises.
• High school diploma or GED with four (4) years of full-time behavioral health experience, or a mix of education and experience: Bachelor’s degree plus one year of behavioral health experience, or an Associate degree plus two years of behavioral health experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Capability to multitask across various software platforms in a dynamic environment.
• Ability to stay focused and composed during emotionally charged discussions.
• Agency Affiliated Counselor (AAC) credential is required by the end of the probationary period; application must be submitted within 30 days of hiring.
• Experience in crisis intervention or suicide prevention.
• Background in behavioral health or contact center operations.
• Familiarity with the public mental health system in King County and Washington State is preferred.
• Must be a resident of Washington, Arizona, Ohio, or Texas.
• Reliable high-speed internet connection with a wired setup; no hotspots or satellite connections permitted.
• Smartphone capable of utilizing Microsoft Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).
• A quiet, private workspace that is suitable for confidential discussions.
• Ability to sit and use a headset for prolonged periods.
• A brief computer skills assessment is required as part of the hiring process.
• $2/hour shift differential.
• Crisis Connections will cover the costs associated with obtaining the Agency Affiliated Counselor (AAC) credential.
• Fully remote work model available.
