Credit Director

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assess risks associated with investments in affordable rental housing utilizing Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) financing.

• Review and analyze Preliminary Investment Reviews (PIRs), Market Analyses (MAs), Investment Analyses (IAs), Closing Memos, and relevant documentation.

• Serve as a resource during the acquisition and underwriting processes to identify risk factors.

• Provide credit oversight for investor documentation and third-party legal reviews necessary for fund closing and/or deal placement.

• Contribute to the understanding of emerging risk issues and industry responses.

• Conduct evaluations of sponsor capacity for new and high-volume partners.

• Engage with investors.

• Participate in site visits.

• Manage external resources, including REIS and ESRI accounts, as well as third-party market analysts.

• Maintain and revise policies and procedures.

• Offer support for sponsor financial review processes during peak times.

• Assist with process enhancements and document upkeep for IA and MA forms.

• Provide training and guidance to new Underwriters and Analysts.

• Collaborate with Syndication Associates on risk-related matters concerning due diligence.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Urban Planning, Finance, or a related field with 10+ years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience.

• Strong analytical skills and familiarity with LIHTC equity underwriting and other multifamily real estate feasibility assessments.

• Proficient in written and verbal communication.

• Capability to foster positive and productive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

• Experience in coordinating complex tasks, managing conflicting priorities, and meeting tight deadlines.

• Highly driven and capable of working independently.

• Willingness to work evening and weekend hours during peak periods.

• Openness to travel as required.
