Credit Controller – Maternity Cover

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Oversee daily collections for a designated portfolio of B2B clients.

• Pursue overdue payments and engage with customers to ensure timely cash flow.

• Execute cash application and posting, ensuring accurate and prompt allocation of receipts to customer accounts.

• Prioritize daily tasks based on account aging and collection significance.

• Escalate higher-risk or complicated accounts to senior team members.

• Alert the Credit Control Manager regarding accounts that are at risk or declining.

• Manage and address routine accounts receivable and billing issues within set service level agreements (SLAs).

• Investigate and resolve standard billing inquiries in collaboration with Billing, Sales, and Account Management teams.

• Keep precise and timely records of account activities and documentation.

• Address routine accounts receivable inquiries from internal departments.

• Collaborate with Billing on invoice-related questions and liaise with the broader European finance team for account maintenance.

• Assist in the preparation of accounts receivable aging reports and account updates.

• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.

• Provide necessary documentation and reconciliations for assigned accounts to facilitate audit requests.


⛳️ Requirements

• 1-3 years of experience in accounts receivable, credit control, or a similar finance position.

• Formal qualifications are not necessary; relevant practical experience is most valuable.

• Background in B2B collections and customer-facing payment follow-ups.

• Working knowledge of essential accounts receivable processes including cash application/posting, account reconciliation, and query resolution.

• Familiarity with ERP/accounting systems; experience with NetSuite is a plus.

• Comfortable operating within established processes and taking direction while gaining the confidence to manage a portfolio independently.

• Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.

• Capability to handle competing priorities and work autonomously during UK/EMEA hours.

• Effective communicator with a collaborative mindset across Sales, Billing, and Account Management teams.

• Proficiency in German is an advantage.
