This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
• Oversee daily financial operations and accounting activities.
• Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Create profit and loss statements segmented by business unit.
• Establish profitability reports at both the client and business-line levels.
• Reconcile corporate bank accounts and uphold financial controls.
• Manage accounts payable, cash flow, and financial liabilities.
• Supervise client billing for all service lines.
• Maintain recurring billing and subscription services.
• Oversee accounts receivable and pursue outstanding payments.
• Reconcile contracted services with invoicing to detect missed or inaccurate revenue.
• Handle commission reconciliation across insurance brokerage, broker-dealer, and investment advisory functions.
• Track anticipated commissions, investigate discrepancies, and facilitate commission distribution.
• Generate reports categorized by client, producer, carrier, product, and business line.
• Collaborate with leadership and sales teams to monitor new sales activities.
• Reconcile finalized sales with revenue and commissions received.
• Maintain the sales pipeline and forecast revenue.
• Integrate pipeline metrics, closed sales, billing, cash inflow, and profitability analysis.
• Assist in annual budgeting and create segment-specific budgets and forecasts.
• Keep rolling forecasts for revenue, expenses, and cash flow.
• Analyze actual performance against budget and identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Provide support for financial modeling related to staffing, pricing, new services, technology investments, and strategic initiatives.
• Reconcile payroll-related bank accounts, tax funding, tax disbursements, client tax obligations, and pass-through funds.
• Ensure the separation of client payroll funds from company operating funds.
• Collaborate with Payroll Operations to address financial discrepancies.
• Report directly to and work closely with the CFO and COO.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline.
• Over 7 years of progressive experience in accounting or financial management.
• Experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, Director of Finance, Finance Manager, or similar roles is preferred.
• Proficient in accounting, reconciliation, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Advanced skills in Excel and experience with various financial data sources.
• Familiarity with QuickBooks or similar accounting software.
• Ability to create impactful management reports and convert financial data into clear business insights.
• Experience in insurance, financial services, payroll, professional services, commission-based businesses, or recurring revenue models is a significant advantage.
