📋 Description

• Oversee the creation and implementation of innovative designs for Story Cannabis and its array of brands across various platforms including digital, print, retail, eCommerce, CRM, social media, packaging, presentations, events, and sales materials.

• Personally develop and produce essential creative assets.

• Transform marketing strategies, campaign briefs, product launches, promotions, and business goals into creative concepts and executions.

• Establish, uphold, and safeguard visual brand standards for Story Cannabis and its associated brands.

• Create scalable campaign visuals and systems that span brands, markets, products, retail outlets, and channels.

• Direct the creative efforts for retail marketing projects, which include store openings, promotions, merchandising, signage, window graphics, point-of-sale materials, in-store experiences, and customer communications.

• Assist wholesale marketing and sales initiatives through the development of sell sheets, retailer-facing materials, product launch tools, presentations, displays, trade marketing assets, and educational materials for budtenders.

• Aid in the development of packaging, refreshes, line extensions, and product launches while ensuring compliance with brand and state regulations.

• Oversee the creative production process from concept to final execution, including revisions, resizing, versioning, file preparation, prepress, production specifications, and handoff to vendors.

• Manage creative versioning across brands, markets, products, promotional offers, formats, and regulatory standards.

• Supervise and provide guidance to agencies, freelancers, photographers, illustrators, printers, production vendors, and other external creative collaborators.

• Collaborate with Brand Marketing, Retail Marketing, CRM, eCommerce, Wholesale, Sales, Operations, Product, and other cross-functional teams.

• Oversee daily creative workflow, including project intake, prioritization, timelines, feedback, approvals, and delivery.

• Develop templates, processes, and repeatable creative systems to enhance speed, consistency, scalability, and efficiency.

• Keep organized creative files, brand assets, photography, templates, logos, packaging files, and other creative resources.

• Support photography and content production efforts, including creative direction, shot lists, asset selection, and post-production management.

• Present creative concepts and recommendations to Marketing leadership and internal stakeholders.

• Mentor and provide creative direction to designers and other creative team members.

• Stay updated on design, retail, consumer, digital, cultural, and cannabis trends, applying relevant insights to brand-appropriate creative.

• Balance the quality of creative output with speed to market, scalability, business objectives, and the operational realities of multi-state operations.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.

• 7+ years of progressive experience in graphic design, creative services, art direction, brand design, or a similar creative field, including senior-level creative leadership while remaining actively involved in design and production.

• A robust portfolio that showcases sophisticated design thinking and execution across digital, print, retail, packaging, brand, and integrated marketing channels.

• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, with a strong understanding of typography, layout, visual hierarchy, brand systems, and both digital and print production.

• Experience in developing integrated campaigns and producing artwork that is ready for production, including file preparation, resizing, versioning, prepress, and vendor production specifications.

• Proven experience in directing and managing agencies, freelancers, photographers, printers, production vendors, and other external creative partners.

• Experience supporting consumer-facing brands—preferably in the cannabis sector, CPG, retail, lifestyle, food and beverage, or hospitality—with a preference for multi-brand, packaging, merchandising, or multi-location retail experience.

• Strong organizational, project management, communication, and presentation skills, with the capacity to handle multiple priorities and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment and travel to Story Cannabis markets as business needs dictate.

• This role necessitates extended periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

• Occasional lifting, carrying, or transporting of marketing materials, signage, creative samples, or event supplies up to 25 pounds may be required.

• Occasional travel to retail locations, photo shoots, events, production vendors, or other Story Cannabis markets may be necessary.
