Country Representative – Strategic Campaigns, Policy

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Estonia.

📋 Description

• Lead the execution of Nidus Balticus’ strategy for Estonia.

• Convert strategic priorities into actionable programmes, campaigns, partnerships, and policy initiatives.

• Design, initiate, and implement strategic campaigns and programmes, including flagship initiatives in Ida-Virumaa.

• Oversee project execution, coordinate with local partners and vendors, manage budgets and timelines, and ensure societal and policy outcomes.

• Cultivate and maintain partnerships across civil society, business sectors, academia, municipalities, and government entities.

• Discover and develop new programme, campaign, and partnership opportunities.

• Recognize emerging political and societal needs and transform relevant opportunities into tangible initiatives.

• Forge relationships with policymakers and public institutions to support advocacy efforts in Estonia.

• Identify future talent, assist in recruitment, and progressively build and lead a local team.

• Represent Nidus Balticus at conferences, public events, stakeholder meetings, and in regional media outlets.

• Monitor programme effectiveness, gather community feedback, and contribute to reports, case studies, and learning processes.

• Report directly to the Executive Director and collaborate with the Chief Operations Officer, PR Manager, and other Country Leads.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5–8+ years of pertinent professional experience in public affairs, advocacy, strategic partnerships, regional development, programme development, community engagement, or ecosystem building.

• Experience in managing complex initiatives or driving organisational growth.

• Capability to establish trusted partnerships across various sectors and effectively engage diverse communities.

• Demonstrated ability to form multi-stakeholder partnerships and collaborative ecosystems involving civil society, businesses, public institutions, and local communities.

• Sound understanding of Estonia’s political, social, and economic environment.

• Familiarity with Ida-Virumaa and existing networks in the region is a significant advantage.

• Proficiency in Estonian and English is required.

• Knowledge of the Russian language is highly beneficial.

• Strong project management abilities and the capacity to independently coordinate multiple workstreams.

• Excellent interpersonal and public speaking skills.

• High level of ownership, autonomy, and initiative.

• Ability to recognize opportunities, navigate ambiguity, and take initiatives from opportunity identification through relationship-building, programme development, and execution.
